My father Mr Noel Jayasekera had been a soldier attached to Royal Army Service Co (RASC) during the WW2.
After retirement from Army he went to Bolawalana Training College and became a trained teacher.
After serving in two schools at Payagala and Dehiwala he joined SAC staff in 1956.
He married my mother in 1960. At that time my mother Mrs Philomina Jayasekera was teaching at OLV Convent , Moratuwa. She got a transfer to SAC in the same year.
My father was teaching Maths and Sinhala to secondary school while my mother taught English to primary classes. Both of them were very devoted Catholics.
When Pope Paul the 6th came to Sri Lanka in 1970, my mother was selected from Galle Diocese to receive Eucharist from Pope. (only 30 individuals including clergy were selected from the whole country).
After SAC was handed over to the government my parents got transferred to Moratuwa. My father had served SAC 15 years & mother 10 years .
Thereafter Father was attached to Prince of Wales College, Moratuwa and was the cadet master until his retirement in 1980. Mother was attached to St Mary's primary school, Katukurunda, Moratuwa. Both of them were active members of various societies attached to St Mary's Church, Moratuwa.
